Head of Agri Commodities Market Research
Carlos Mera heads Rabobank’s Agri Commodity Market Research (ACMR) team in London, having joined the bank in 2015. Prior to that, Carlos spent over seven years at a large coffee trading house. Carlos has visited over a thousand coffee farms in several coffee producing countries, including Brazil, Vietnam and Colombia. Carlos is an experienced crop forecaster of both crops and futures prices.
Carlos supervises Rabobank’s global S/D estimates of green coffee (among other commodities), forecasts prices and carries specific research projects like crop and stock surveys. Carlos’ research assists Rabobank’s extensive coffee client base, that extends from farmers and cooperatives to traders, roasters, chains of coffee shops and supermarkets. He and his team support Rabobank rural trade and large corporate lending, commodity sales and trading, M&A and stock finance, among other relevant services for the coffee industry.
Carlos holds a BSc economics from University of Buenos Aires and a MSc Finance from the London School of Economics and Political Science. Carlos is based in London.
