Emilia Umaña is the Senior Manager of World Coffee Research’s Nursery Development Program. She coordinates all global activities to strengthen producing countries’ planting materials distribution systems and make better trees available and accessible to coffee farmers.
As a trained agronomist, Emilia has served professionally in the coffee sector for over a decade. She brings a wealth of experience to her role as a member of a coffee-growing family in Costa Rica. Her deep experience and unique understanding of renovation programs and the coffee nursery and seed sector at large inform her work to effectively close gaps and support farmer success.
