Carlos Mera heads Rabobank’s AgriCommodity Market Research (ACMR) team in London, having joined the bank in 2015. Before that, Carlos spent over seven years at a large coffee trading house. Carlos has visited over a thousand coffee farms in several coffee-producing countries, including Brazil, Vietnam and Colombia. Carlos is an experienced crop forecaster of both crops and futures prices.
Carlos supervises Rabobank’s global S/D estimates for green coffee (among other commodities), forecasts prices, and conducts specific research projects such as crop and stock surveys. Carlos’ research assists Rabobank’s extensive coffee client base, which extends from farmers and cooperatives to traders, roasters, chains of coffee shops, and supermarkets. He and his team support Rabobank rural trade and large corporate lending; commodity sales and trading, M&A and stock finance, among other relevant services for the coffee industry.
Carlos holds a BSc in economics from the University of Buenos Aires and an MSc in Finance from the London School of Economics and Political Science. Carlos is based in London.
