Erwin Mierisch, known for his leadership in quality-driven coffee production, innovation, and sustainability. With deep roots in coffee farming across Central America, Erwin has played a key role in transforming his family’s multigenerational coffee farms into a model of excellence, recognized globally for producing some of the world’s finest coffees.
As a long-time collaborator and current Executive Director of Cup of Excellence and the Alliance for Coffee Excellence, Erwin has contributed to elevating coffee standards and creating direct connections between producers of high-quality coffee and specialty coffee buyers. He has served as an international juror and head judge for COE competitions, advisor, and advocate for programs that empower small producers, promote transparency, and celebrate single origin coffees.
Fluent in both the agricultural and commercial sides of the coffee value chain, Erwin has consulted with exporters, roasters, and development programs across Latin America, and is passionate about fostering farmer education, regenerative agriculture, and the preservation of unique coffee varieties.
Erwin continues to be a bridge between origin and market, championing traceability, quality, and producer equity as the foundation for a more sustainable and vibrant coffee industry.
