Pedro Ronca

Agronomist Engineer from Escola Superior de Agricultura “Luiz de Queiroz” (ESALQ/USP), with a postgraduate degree in Agribusiness from FIA/USP and a Master in Coffee Economics and Science from illycaffè and University of Trieste, Italy. Agronomist consultant, experience with planning projects, conducting and managing properties with adaptation of sustainable production systems, post-harvest, production of specialty coffees, and strategic consulting.

Pedro has also extensive experience as an auditor for certification in sustainable production chains, he has worked for 7 years as a Rainforest Alliance auditor. He is a coffee farmer in the South of Minas Gerais State in Brazil where he has applied the techniques of Regenerative Agriculture for many years. Currently is the Consulting Director at P&A Consulting company (Company with 25 years in the Consulting business with projects in several countries of the world) and have worked for P&A for 10 years.

Manages the Brazil Platform of the Global Coffee Platform (GCP) working with the 2030 Collective Action for Farmer Prosperity with a focus on Regenerative Agriculture. As part of the 2030 Strategic Plan GCP is conducting a revision and alignment on the Regenerative Agriculture concept to be used in the implementation of the Strategy.

Regenerative Agriculture is at the center of GCP Strategy in Brazil understanding that it can increase grower’s resilience to climate change and decrease its impacts on Farmer’s income. Pedro is also responsible for the Cocoa Action Brasil Initiative, since 2018, on behalf of the World Cocoa Foundation (WCF)–a pre-competitive public and private multi-stakeholder partnership to develop the cocoa sustainable production and the cocoa sector in Brazil. On the cocoa sector focuses on promoting agroforestry systems with cocoa, technical assistance, access to credit, and increased productivity and farmer’s income.
