Volker brings over 30 years of experience in international trade and supply chain management, with profound expertise in the global green coffee business. Over the decades, he has built an exceptional worldwide network across the coffee industry as well as in political and social environments.
At Alois Dallmayr OHG and now through his own company, ALRIGHTY, Volker has been committed to ensuring both quality and sustainability. His strengths go far beyond green coffee: they include strategic management, supply chain optimization, product innovation, blend design, and public engagement through contributions to print media, television, and podcasts.
Volker has lived and worked in coffee-producing countries and traveled to many origins intensively, visiting Ethiopia alone more than 20 times. His experience spans the entire value chain, from harvests at origin to quality classification to roasting and blending for different preparation methods, all the way to trading on the major exchanges in London and New York.
He also plays an active role in sustainability initiatives. Since 2010, Volker had the privilege of knowing Dr. Jane Goodall personally, whom he regards as an enduring role model. Before her passing, she served as patron of ALRIGHTY and gave her blessing to the project — a recognition that continues to guide the work. The partnership with the Jane Goodall Institute remains an active and valued collaboration. In addition, ALRIGHTY partners with Karl Heinz Böhm’s Menschen für Menschen to support a project in Ethiopia that helps reduce the company’s CO₂ footprint.
